Eastern Europe is having a massive cold spell right now; it's incredibly sad. It's hit the Ukraine the hardest, with over 250 people losing their lives in the east, 135 in the Ukraine. I just read on CNN that, "Kiev alone has more than 14,000 homeless people, authorities said -- among the most vulnerable to winter." It's so important to count our blessings right now!

Today in Karlsruhe, it's -9 C (16 F), quite warm compared to the rest of Germany. The recent snow we had won't be melting for awhile.
